RRJ #5 (Why is Mechanical Job Gaining a lot of Importance Now?)

Summary:

According to the author, nowadays the field of mechanical engineering is very large. There are a lot of things that the mechanists are able to do, such as HVAC system, plants, industrial set up, medical equipment etc. Also in the factory there is a need for engineers to ensure the work of the machines there. HVAC will work very well if it has a good maintenance and a right installation. Moreover, engineer responsibility is to do every project as well as they can whether it is it for public or private clients. Mechanical engineering includes all manufacturing business as well as maintenance demands. In various fields of production engineers are required to oversee the facilitation, such as design and maintenance, and make sure the workflow is going well. Areas of work of mechanical engineering are getting bigger and bigger with the growth of industrial life.

Reaction:

This article shows how mechanical engineering is a huge field that offers a lot of jobs. Moreover, the all-industrial factories need a mechanist with specific knowledge about specific machines. We can see that with every object there is a dynamic way, which shows how mechanical engineers get involved with everything. For me it is really very important to know that because I am going to study this major, so I need to know what I will have in the future and what my opportunity in the future is if I graduate from this major. It is a tough major to study, especially advanced subjects, such as fluid mechanical, statics, energy Conversion, etc. However, when I recognize the all chance of gaining money after I get the job as a mechanical engineer, which encourages me to keep going in this major whatever it costs.

RRJ#3 (Manned Solar-Powered Aircraft Makes Successful Maiden Flight)

Summary:

The scientists of major materials companies found a way to make a solar-powered aircraft fly. This aircraft can fly up to 4,000 ft.; also it's powered by 12,000 solar cells. The inventors show to the world after seven years of working how to use the sun as a natural source to fly a real aircraft. This success of this first flight gives the scientists a hope to improve this invention. The program founder Bertrand Piccard said, “ Our future depends on our ability to convert rapidly to the use of renewable energies”. The solar impulse has the wingspan of a jumbo jet to hold the solar cells. However, this aircraft has a little problem which is the flying at night.

Reaction:

Finally the world got to use of the solar energy, which we always have. Not only is it free, but we have it every single day, so we don’t worry about economizing the energy that we are get from the sun. It is an aircraft but it is not like the other aircrafts because it flies with solar energy. They use the solar cells as fuel. What an amazing invention that they found, so in the next few years we will be able to fly around the world by an aircraft which is powered by solar cells. All the ticket prices of the flying will be less than today’s prices. Also the other scientists will find the way to running the engines of the cars, big trucks and ships by solar energy. I am really excited to try a flight on this aircraft.

RRJ#2 (Chrysler to Build A Battery-Powered Electric Car by 2012)

Summary:

The new car of Chrysler Group LLC will be in the mark of car in 2012. This new car is different then the other cars because it is a battery-powered electric vehicle. The Fiat 500EV will be two-door vehicle, also it will not use internal combustion engine, like, the other cars, which work by gasoline. This car it’s useful for daily uses, in addition it will have a range of speed between 80-100 miles. The Fiat 500EV includes three major parts: a high-power electric powertrain module, an advanced lithium-ion battery and an EV control unit to manage power flows. The company did not state the fast of this vehicle yet, but they hope to recharge it to an 80-percent level in as little as 25 minutes. The price of this car has not been calculated yet.


Reaction:

The new Fiat 500EV is a good way to show the value that the knowledge people give to make the environment clean and healthy because this car will not has any exhaust gases such as, CO1 and CO2 while the cars which are get the power from burning the gasoline do these exhaust gases. In addition, this object is going to save a lot of money that the users spend on the gasoline. Also the small cars like, Fiat 500EV, will not cause any problem for the traffic in the street and it easy for them to get parks. I am so glad that Chrysler Group LLC found the way to creative this car. All the students are going to like it too because they will be able to drive this car to school, and it’s economic car. This newborn technology is amazing, how we turn the electric energy to mechanical energy especially in vehicles which we daily use.

RRJ #1 ( Tungsten Inert Gas Welding )

Summary:

One of the best methods to do the process of welding is Tungsten Inert Gas

(TIG). It is not like the other methods of welding because it doesn’t melt; also it helps to keep the weld material. In addition the weld with TIG is free of dirt and without holes and lamps. To have a complete weld with TIG, some tools are required such as TIG welding machine, shielding gas, and protective gear. To keep the process going in order, it has to be done carefully and in form. The TIG is almost same as the other methods in the order of actions. The process of TIG is dangerous like the other methods of welding; therefore, the workers on it should be careful and follow the rule of safety.

Reaction:

It very good for the all welding shops that they find this kind of method because it helps to weld a lot of metals with less cost and it keeps the welder doing the welding without stopping to take off the metal and put a new one, like the metal inert gas (MIG). So we won’t see this kind of spending money and time with TIG. This article makes me happy, because I have a plan to make my own workshop when I graduate from college; also, it shows me the difference between all kinds of welding methods. I am excited to do a search after i graduate to figure out and explore new methods that help the industries to work easily; also, this methods will make me rich if I do them.
